WOW! What A Year!

Merry Christmas Friends!

I thought I'd share a few pics of The Ponds Farmhouse all decked out for Christmas!

This past year has been filled with some many highs and lows. I guess that’s just life but I wanted to take a minute to thank you for lifting me up in so many ways.  I received so many words of support, congratulations, sympathy and just encouragement!  These messages came from all across the US and even Canada and beyond.  It meant so much to me!

The number of followers on my Instagram account has continued to grow and with that growth has come encouragement!  I’ve always been creative and loved trying DIY projects!  However, the encouragement I’ve received over the past year has really unleashed a desire to be even more creative. So I want to thank you for all your comments and words of encouragement!  I feel lifted up daily by these comments and I feel so blessed!

Some Highlights of the Year!

As you probably know we added to our immediate family!  Rudy has added so much joy to our life!

As you can see this was a dream come true!  This was also another moment that the loss of my mom hit me hard!  She knew this was going to happen and she would have been on the phone for days spreading the news about this article.  I know she was up in heaven spreading the word on high!

My mom at her 98th birthday party!

Country Church Painting

In Memory of my Mom, I painted this Country Church where she and my dad are buried!  This church is a family memorial church and is within 1/2 mile from our home.

Another highlight of this year was our local newspaper featured our home in their monthly magazine, Thrive!  This is a free publication and we were excited to be featured on the cover!  The article was much more personal look at our journey of coming full circle and how we came to be featured in a national magazine.   The article and the photo's were perfect and this was definitely another highlight of our year!!!

Although loosing my mom was definitely the low point of this year, I can't help but be thankful that she lived such a long and healthy life!  She was only away from her home, where she lived alone, for three weeks!  She was only two months away from her 99th birthday!    So this Christmas will be hard for my family, however we are starting new traditions and realize we were so blessed to have had her with us all these years!

This sign above our bed sums up how we feel daily!

This DIY garland is made from hymnal pages of Christmas Hymns.  Such as Joy to the World and Silent Night!

Lighted garland and faux trees add warmth to the front entry!

We are hosting Christmas Day here at The Ponds Farmhouse and looking forward to all our family coming together!.

I added a frame to this gorgeous wreath from Floral Treasure!  It's the perfect compliment to Sophie, my Silent Night Christmas  Painting!

I added twigs with faux snow to this DIY light fixture!  A few berries and red birds completed the scene.
